• ONE STEP AHEAD Tutoring Program – Education and self confidence are vital to success. ZH strives to build students self confidence in learning with after school tutoring and academic enrichment. ZH concentrates on the core subjects: math, language arts, reading as well as test taking/study and organizational skills.

  LIFE’S ESSENTIALS – Realizing that health and social issues too often impact a student’s ability to learn effectively, ZH facilitates health education and life skills workshops and provides resources for students and families. ZH also stresses the importance of developing life skills in the areas of abstinence from premature sex, peer pressure, anger and stress control, etiquette and financial management.

  PROJECT EXPOSURE – Through this unique and wonderful, educational project, students have the opportunity to visit worlds unknown to them. EXPOSURE trips include visits to museums, restaurants, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, theaters and concerts and travel to other countries.

  
  

All volunteers/tutors are trained college students and graduates and undergo a background check.
